Our Story
We are a small, independent bookseller specializing in rare and limited-edition books from the horror, fantasy, and science fiction genres. Based in Scarborough, Maine (near Portland), our humble beginnings included scouring local flea markets, estate and garage sales for books signed by Jake’s favorite author, Stephen King. Over time, Jake was able to grow his own collection, but also begin sharing treasures with friends and fellow collectors on social media.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple…offer literary treasures to collectors from all over the world at reasonable prices, so that they may grow their own library to be cherished for years to come. We operate primarily as an online bookseller, but have a physical store which is available to visit by appointment only. Our Services
We offer consultation, valuation, and consignment services for single books, or for entire collections! Our consignment fees are very reasonable, and the process can be tailored to meet your needs. (Example: some consigners prefer to hold on to their books and ship to buyers direct; others prefer to have us pick up an entire collection and handle all of the shipping...but we are happy customize our approach in a way that is most comfortable to you!) In addition to consignment, we are always willing to make an offer on a collection so that you can sell it outright if you prefer. Reach out and let us know how we can help you!

We are primarily an online bookseller, but we do offer in-person shopping and appraisals by appointment only.
Yes, we offer gift cards in various denominations. They make a great gift for any book lover!
We pride ourselves on providing excellent customer service! If there is a problem with any book you purchase, we will gladly work with you to resolve the issue. Returns are generally subject to the following terms and conditions:
- Most books are sent via USPS Priority Mail, or UPS. We are responsible for insuring any books we ship to you. If any damage occurs in transit, please let us know and take photos of the packaging and any damage to your book.
- 7 days from date of delivery, buyer should have inspected the book and notified us if there were any unexpected issues. If so, please describe what the issue is, and provide any relevant photos.
- Once return has been authorized, buyer must securely package the book and ship/insure back to us. Upon safe return, book will be inspected and if there are no additional issues, buyer will be refunded purchase price. (If any additional damage occurs in return transit, buyer may need to file an insurance claim with shipping company.)
- If refund/return is requested for reasons other than an unexpected condition issues, a restocking fee may apply.
Most items will ship for free within the continental US. Shipping anywhere else in the world is available, but is at actual cost. We typically ship using USPS and UPS, but will work with buyers if another service is preferred.
We prefer payments via PayPal, but can accept other forms as well, including Venmo, CashApp and others. We do offer payment plans, and will work with you to come up with a plan that works for us both!
We upload new products weekly, and will sometimes announce an upcoming "drop" in advance. If there is ever anything you are looking for, don't hesitate to reach out in advance!
