Rare Treasures From Maine, to Anywhere in the World
Buy with confidence, sell with ease, and geek out over rare books with a collector who gets it.

Whether You’re Buying or Selling, I’m Here to Help.
Hey there, fellow Stephen King collector. If you’re anything like me, you love the thrill of tracking down that perfect edition—a first printing of The Stand, a signed Carrie, or a limited Subterranean Press release. But I also know how frustrating the process can be.
I hear it all the time—overpriced books, vague listings, and sellers who treat books like inventory, not collectibles. And if you're selling, it’s just as frustrating—not knowing where to start, price a collection, or find a buyer you trust.
That’s exactly why I started Jake’s Rare Books—to give collectors a place where they can buy with confidence, sell with ease, and actually enjoy the process. Whether you’re looking for a rare first edition, need help pricing your collection, or just want to talk shop, I’m always happy to help.

Trends and Holiday TreasuresHello fellow collectors! As we transition from spooky season 2025, into the holidays, I wanted to share some observations so far in 2025. We have definitely noticed a trend of "OG Collectors" who have been reaching out and wanting to downsize their assets. When I say 'OG" I mean those folks who recognized the genius and collectability of King in the 70's and 80's. Some of these collectors have amassed amazing collections including first editions of King's early works, as well as signed early editions. Remember, through the 80's and early 90's, people could send two books to King. He would sign them and send them back! Anyways, this demographic is realizing that to leave their collections for their heirs to figure out is a bit of a burden. And so many collections have hit the market and those incredible books are finding new homes. But the amount of collectors in the hobby has not diminished the demand...and supply remains LOWER than demand. That is because new Constant Readers are coming into the hobby all the time. Hollywood continues to celebrate and feature King's stories in the modern era. So now is a great time to be "on the hunt." ... Trends and Holiday TreasuresHello fellow collectors!
